Railroad Safety Signs
One key point we were asked to emphasize to first responders is the Blue Sign near railroad crossings. If you see an emergency at a Railroad Crossing, you should first call the 800 number location on the blue sign that is located at each crossing. Give the operator the DOT#. This is the only way to let the railroad know exactly where you are located and the only method of contacting the train engineer.
Take note the next time you see a railroad crossing. It is one of those things you never notice until you are prompted to do so.
